The city of alabaster

It is impossible to visit Volterra without discovering its great craftsmanship. The symbol of the city is the alabaster, an appreciated material worked here since the Etruscans times, with an extraordinary resistance and shine. The Roman presence is also documented in Volterra by the important remains of the Teatro di Vallebona, of which it is nowadays possible to visit the ruins. Volterra awaits you driving through the streets along the Val D'Era.
