San Gimignano, 6km

The Manhattan of the Middle Ages

A Unesco World Heritage Site since 1990, San Gimignano is famous all over the world for its 14 towers, originally 72. The historic centre has preserved most of its buildings and monuments, enclosed by a truly medieval atsmosphere. In the local restaurants and taverns you can taste the famous " Vernaccia ", the typical white wine of the area, with a fresh flavor, produced here since the 13th Century. Do not miss also to taste the delicious Saffron of San Gimignano, a real excellence which still grows in the fields of many local farms.
