San Gimignano, 6km

A Unesco World Heritage Site since 1990, San Gimignano is famous all over the world for its towers. The historic centre has preserved most of its buildings and monuments, enclosed by a truly medieval atsmosphere. In the local restaurants and taverns you can taste the famous "Vernaccia", the typical white wine of the area, produced here since the 13th Century. Do not miss the delicious Saffron too, a real excellence of this territory which is still grown in the local farms.
